Some state benefits are treated as taxable income and some are wholly exempt from tax. It is therefore important to know which ones are taxable and which aren’t to make sure you pay the correct amount of tax.

TAXABLE STATE BENEFITS
If you are within the self-assessmentand are in recepit of any of taxable benefits, your should make sure you include them in your self-assessment tax return, otherwise you may end up paying an incorrect amount of tax.
